Message from the Executive Director

Dear NHA Families,
We have been monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) closely through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The health, safety, and well-being of the Needham Housing Authority residents and staf remain our daily and utmost priority. At this time, as the situation continues to evolve quickly, the CDC is recommending all businesses and communities be prepared for the potential threat of the virus. While the risk remains low, we share your concerns over this public health situation and want you to know about the steps and extra precautions we are taking with respect to public areas at the NHA.
We are working diligently to help contain viral illnesses by regularly deep cleaning all public areas including the common rooms, stairwells, mailboxes, bathrooms, laundry rooms, etc. All NHA staff are performing frequent and thorough hand washing. Currently, the flu is still a greater risk to our community so basic hygiene practices remain the best strategy to prevent infectious disease. In an effort to comply with the current State of Emergency issued by Gov. Baker and our desire to keep everyone safe during this pandemic, we are currently suspending all non-essential NHA activities & events. This will include: Coffee Hour, Seabeds Way Food Pantry, Chair Yoga, Club meetings, Cooks After School Program, the St. Patrick Day luncheon and the 3/25/20 Smoking Cessation Workshop. The regular March 2020 NHA Board meeting is also being postponed to a later date.I have been advised that Springwell will continue to provide breakfast & lunches as previously scheduled. Should that need to change, we will post an announcement at the Community Room. As of this time there is no definitive word from Springwell or the DPH as to the continuation monthly Blood Pressure Clinics at the Seabeds and Linden Chambers Community Rooms.NHA will be posting hyperlinks on the NHA site for reference as well as posting in the community room boards. The NHA Administrative Office will remain open during regularly scheduled business hours, as will the Maintenance Department.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will update you with any new developments. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the office (781) 444-3011.
Sincerely,
Angie Medeiros, Executive Director
